There is a good choice of boardwalks and walking trails
around Cape Tribulation where you can explore the rainforest on your
own but there are a few reasons to book on a guided day or nightwalk.
The rainforest at night is a different place, where animals come out
that hide during the day.
Your guide knows where they live, and he is trained in spotting the
often very well camouflaged animals.
Your tourguide will also tell you all about this amazing flora and
fauna, so you get an understanding of how everything in the rainforest
eco system is connected to eachother.
Jungle Adventures only runs guided nightwalks, while Mason's Tours
is the only tour operator in Cape Tribulation that runs both nightwalk
and daywalks.
About 20 minutes south of Cape Tribulation there are also guided day
and nightwalks available at Cooper Creek Wilderness.
Jungle Adventures
runs night walks every night, pick-up times start from around 19:30,
prices are $40.- for nightwalks only, or $30.- if booked together
with a Junglesurf.
All included are torches, raincoats, transfers and expert commentary
by highly trained guides. In day time they can also take you right
into the canopy which is not normally accessible, this is known as
Jungle Surfing.
